Perhaps that's at least part of the lengthier explanation why no one is selling any primers or macros, or project management planning tools that attack the particulars of this upgrade cycle. The question is fair game for implementers great and small whether taking the leap from 2003, MOSS, or diving off the deep-end of the first-timer pool
What does your organization currently have implemented and if you could, ”in a perfect world,” descibe the exact scenario and path of how your SharePoint 2013 initaitive should go, what would you say? For example, on the previous 60+ SharePoint 2013 upgrade and/or migration initiatives EPC Group has been a part of, we have outlined the overall requirements of 5 projects that organization’s were able to achieve with SharePoint 2013 and/or Office 365’s SharePoint Online: Note: In reviewing these scenarios, start to think about your own high level summary of what you are wanting to acheive in your organization’s effort
But those options depend on the version you are upgrading to. In-place Upgrade In-place upgrades offer a simple way to upgrade from one version of SharePoint to the next version (for example, from SharePoint 2007 to SharePoint 2010)
Many companies are preparing to upgrade from earlier versions of SharePoint to the recently released SharePoint 2010 version. As such, I thought it might be helpful to do an overview of the upgrade options and considerations
Due to some release information restrictions I will use a lot of information verbatim that Microsoft released publically yesterday but it is key to go with a Hybrid SharePoint Deployment methodology in your current SharePoint 2010 deployment to adapt properly to a future upgrade of SharePoint 2013
1 Comment - I was a little bummed after playing with 2013 for a week now to see that the ECM functionality is not substantially changed...I did several tests of importing 2010 taxonomies into 2013 and it worked like a charm!
I am extremely grateful to be part of the AIIM Community and be able to share my thoughts and real life, from the trenches (pardon the SharePoint 2013 book plug, by Sam’s Publishing, a sector of Pearson…kidding), thoughts and recommendations

Can you opt to go right to SharePoint 2013 with your licensing agreement or is SharePoint 2010 you’re only licensing option?
So you have a very good and well established SharePoint application and all is going well but it is now 2013 and Microsoft have done again; they have gone out and release yet another version of Microsoft SharePoint which is SharePoint 2013
Although this report focuses squarely on SharePoint 2010, the waves of questions around SharePoint 2013 have also started to crash in from users, partners and customers asking, what is it?
