Mine was that the information professional and vendor are both looking for a mechanism to measure the maturity and success of Records and Information Management (RIM) Programs
Given that these tools are the bread and butter of RIM programs, it makes RIM professionals a natural choice to assist with the EDRMS implementation...Better RIM programs. IA, metadata and taxonomies bring a number of benefits to the RIM program
For example, you can design a “friendly,” user-oriented structure for general staff to use and another IA that satisfies the particular requirements of the RIM program
I always loved the speed and variety of consulting, and knew I’d be back one day, but also knew I wanted to “walk the walk” for a while to really get a better understanding of what it’s like to have to live with a RIM program every day (dirty socks and cap-less toothpaste and all)
If we as a profession are ultimately successful in implementing RIM programs that identify the information our organizations create and receive, and devise quality processes to dispose of information as soon as it has met its legal, fiscal and/or operational value but neglect to spend time and effort to preserve both records and non-records that may hold historical value to the organization itself or the community it operates in, are we in the end threatening future generations' ability to really understand our organizations?
Now they can really get the RIM program off the ground, because the RRS is the cornerstone for what our program is all about, right?
--As part of the SDLC process, your RIM program must build, maintain, and update, as needed, a framework in order to provide current requirements information and manage your part of the review process, including tracking changes using Agile and DevOps processes --Not all systems are able to adequately manage and disposition records and information

2 Comments - The folks running the RIM program need to measure themselves by how often they add value to the business units and IT
