Title: Missing "Bytes": The Critical Role of Information Governance in the SDLC Process.
Description: Does your organization have a Software/System Development Lifecycle (SDLC) process? Is your Information Governance (IG) team an active participant in that process? If you answered "no" to either of these questions, you are missing a fundamental piece of your organization's IG program, not to mention missing stores of information that your IG team should be actively addressing. To effectively manage information throughout its lifecycle, you need to understand and make informed decisions about the systems and applications that touch or through which information will pass throughout its life. In this session, we will introduce the fundamentals of the SDLC process, discuss why organizations should have one, and identify specific steps in the process where IG input is critical to the SDLC process.
Date: Wednesday, August 16, 2023
Time: 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM ET
Learning Objectives: By attending this session, you will:
- Learn the origin, history, and components of the SDLC process
- Understand the IG implications of the SDLC process and the important role IG / RIM professionals can play
- Learn how to map the SDLC to the day-to-day operations of an IG program
