I was researching a trend where I thought vendors were emerging that offered out-of-the-box back office content solutions that were being sold directly to business users
2 Comments - Where you see them being "information silos", I consider this simply not seeing the bigger picture of how the platforms are implemented. The "solution" they offer is a component of the larger build: one must determine taxonomy, which must drive archival, which must consider retention, before running through a process
However, if we hadn’t had a random employee who decided to stop in the office, we would have had a ton of water to clean up
That a lot of rogue content access!...Content on mobile devices – If an employees mobile device is lost or stolen or an employee is terminated, can company content be wiped?
Begin an evaluation process to categorize existing tapes into three categories: (1) those with content subject to hold(s), (2) those with content subject to retention, (3) those with content subject neither to hold(s) nor retention. Dispose of tapes in the third category immediately. For tapes with content in the first and second categories, Adopt a strategic approach to retaining/disposing of them that balances cost and risk and allows for cost-effective, scalable discovery and RM
