To me, Office Web Apps is one of the coolest things to happen to SharePoint in a long time
Levie asks, "...there were quite a few iPads floating around the AIIM Expo, but how many ECM vendors had an app?" I checked, and as of Friday, April 30, there was precisely one ECM-ish app in the Apple App Store. It comes from Open Text and is their Social Media Mobile app. The app appears to tie into their forays into Web 2.0, but it wasn't immediately clear whether or how it would access an Open Text repository. But I'm thinking that that's one of the iPad "killer apps" almost by definition
This actually makes a lot of sense for Microsoft to do this as everything had become an "App" in true technical conversations. When speaking with the business side of a SharePoint 2013 or Office 365 Hybrid initiative (and even in Azure) you would have to detail what exactly an "App" was and with those users in organization's with previous experience in either SharePoint 2007 or SharePoint 2010 and Web Parts, with the ability to add an "App Part" to a Site site definitely can get confusing for end users and Power users alike

Last week, I was led to an article on Information Week’s site that called Microsoft’s Office Web Apps for iPad a “Game Changer&rdquo
The Start screen displays a customizable array of tiles linking to various apps and desktop programs, some of which can display constantly updated information and content through "live tiles"
While it may seem that mobile apps must comprise the major demand because of their ubiquity, most U.S. users still prefer to use Google to find websites; thus, it is very important to have a mobile one
Bank of America did a survey on facebook to find its most popular credit card and also showcased its mobile app to access bank account details
Luckily, these collaboration technologies extend across our entire Enterprise Platform including multi-user document editing in Office 2010, embedded Presence and Instant Messaging in Outlook (and Outlook Web App), and even allow me to federate with external partners and customers for simplistic and secure collaboration with these users as well
