I wanted to share a brief update to the job title issue we discussed at this session. Not only do I get to keep my title, but they have revised where I am on our skill/experience matrix to reflect that I am a seasoned professional and were I to go on leave or leave the company, they would need someone with that level of expertise to fill this role. We (my colleague, our manager, and I) made the case so strongly that I'm now actually better situated than before.

@Brooke Sales-Lee Congratulations!  This is fantastic news!  You're probably better situated than you may even realize because you've also shown your organization that you will speak up and that's a strength that smart employers will want to retain - people that will continue questioning why and pushing the envelope contribute to growth of the organization as a whole.  I'm curious to know which part of what you said/did in making your case led to the win?  Could I share this news with the speaker, Branda?  I'm sure she'd be delighted to hear that her session had such a significant impact.

@Brooke Sales-Lee  - It's always great to hear that there were actionable takeaways that were applied to real life situations.  I am so glad that you met with success in approaching management with a proposal that benefited you and them.  Win-Win for everyone.  Kudos to you for getting out your shield and taking action!  You never know when you will win.  If you don't take a chance - you'll never know.
