ECM Implementations - Practical Advice

The decision on an ECM system is not an easy to make. WIth the years the market becomes more complex and competitive so I can understand why you have more questions about it.

I would say, depending on the case, you choose the right questions, priorities and approach.

How I would use this checklist? I would fill it in having some preferred ECM solutions in mind and see what comes out as best. But this is only part of the picture. I like this checklist because it is focusing on modern ECM features.

Working 30 years with an ECM system from Open Text, I find these kind of selection checklist very interesting. They raise the question; What is most important when selecting a system? Is it cost? Scalability? Deployment? And is the selection of system related to probabiity of success when implementing the system? After all these years i have perhaps less answers the questions - so would be interesting to hear your thoughts about how to use a list like this.
