The announcement of the ISIS Drivers for large format scanning prompted the large format scanner manufacturers to ask about the ability to automate cleanup. To date, that is not a feature for these software products and large format drawings. What I want to address is how do you do Quality Control with large format drawings. We know they are there but don’t have the specifics and then there is the issue just because you have a duplicate file doesn’t mean the file is actually a duplicate. In large format scanning projects, you can have duplicate files but with different mark up information (3 sheets of paper of the same drawing with three different mark ups)
We have both been involved in the “large format” industry...I had to share these very obvious tips! Large format scanning can be a challenge, especially if you have limited experience
We had a specific brand of scanners we required for almost all cases (with the exceptions being large-format scanners which were not offered by our chosen brand.)
They have a need to capture and manage large format paper documents, address material safety data management and build for today and their future deployment needs
