Virtual Coffee with Zasio Consulting: The 21st Century Archival Practitioner

When:  Jan 26, 2022 from 09:00 to 10:00 (MT)
Are you setting your goals for the New Year? Don't forget to add archiving to your list! For the second session of this three-part series, we're teaming up with the Boise Valley ARMA Chapter and invited an expert on the subject, Dr. Patricia Franks, to join our Consulting team to discuss the 21st Century Archival Practitioner.

In today's digital environment, the roles of the Archivist and the Records Manager converge. You'll learn how central activities to the archival practice may overlap with cybersecurity, blockchain distributed ledger technology, digital forensics, e-discovery, and information governance, and methods you can use at your organization to carry out these duties.

Dr. Pat Franks will provide an image of the 21st Century Archival Practitioner based on 111 entries contributed by 105 authors to the 2020 publication of her recent publication, The Handbook of Archival Practice.

Dr. Pat Franks is a Professor Emerita at San José State, president of the National Association of Government Archives and Records Administrators (NAGARA), and a Certified Archivist, Certified Records Manager, Information Governance Professional, and Certified Information Governance Officer.

We want to address as many questions as possible about the practice of archiving, so if you have anything specific you'd like our panelists to discuss, please email sabrina.slattery@zasio.com.
