Hi everyone, a question - we have a SharePoint-based intranet and we also follow a distributed publisher model. Our organisation is going through a fair amount of change at the moment, which means that our publishers need to audit their content and make all sorts of updates.

Some of our capabilities are centralised as an organisation (i.e. procurement, ICT), and so that content is largely centralised on the intranet as well. This content is relatively easy to audit and update. But there are often also fragments of the same information 'peppered' throughout the intranet in various locations, owned by various parts of the business.

I'm looking for recommendations, strategies, frameworks or advice that I can provide to our publishers about how to conduct large-scale reviews of subject matter under their remit, specifically taking into account that 'centralised' and 'peppered' information. We have a central TermStore for tagging content, but tagging rates are only at about 60% at the moment.

    Hi Michael,

Consider implementing a peer document review system like this one from Soutron: https://www.soutron.com/en_us/products/record-document-review-solution/. Keeps review workflows and content in one place for easy tracking and publishing.›

Hi Michael, That is a common situation that, depending on the scale, is not easy to resolve. It might be worth reaching out to somebody like Richard Harbridge, who is probably the best-known (ranked) independent SharePoint expert. In short, if he doesn't know, then nobody likely does :-) In full disclosure, I have no commercial relationship with Richard; we just knew each other from events over the years and the broader SharePoint advisory community - I am happy to make an intro if you like.

    Best

    Alan

I agree with Alan's point here, and second Richard Harbridge as a potential resource. I'd also add Joanne C. Klein to that list, as well as the folks at Cadence Solutions, C5 Insights, and Infotechtion. As with Alan, I don't have any sort of commercial relationship with any of them, but I have found the resources they share publicly to be valuable and have recommended them to my clients. Good luck!
