Title: Is Your Change Strategy Backward? – Inverting the Model Might Be the Better Path!
Description: When most of us talk about "change management projects," we think of them as "one-and-done" initiatives. That might have been the case in the past, but today –with the capabilities of technology and the ever-changing demands of the global economy– change is a state of being. For innovation and organizational change to be successful, we need to recognize that change management isn't reserved just for Change Managers. It's everyone's job to have the strategies, tactics, skills, and frameworks for making change happen. Change management has traditionally been organized around the assumption that we implement a big solution (e.g., system, framework, process, a new way of working) and then change behaviors (i.e., skills, disciplines, habits) afterward. But what if it is really the other way around? What if changing people should in fact come first? This presentation explores what change management is in practice today and reimagines what it could be tomorrow too. The session shares tactical, everyday change management practices to improve your behavior and that of your organization and team, along with key learnings.
