First off … a big THANK YOU to the AIIM leadership team for inviting me to blog as part of the AIIM Expert Bloggers Forum.
A little about me
I have been in the technology space for the past 20 years. I have a degree in manufacturing engineering from Cal Poly Pomona and have been in the Enterprise Content Management (ECM) space since 1992 when I started with Kofax. Of course, if wasn’t called ECM back then. It went by names like Knowledge Management, Document Imaging, and later Document Capture.
I spent time with Microsoft, FileNet, K2, and Captaris prior to joining Kodak. My current role at Kodak is the Director of Business Development. I focus on the Microsoft relationship and also work with partners and customers across the entire ECM ecosystem.
What can you expect from me?
I will be writing about Document Capture and Information Extraction technologies primarily. My emphasis will not be solely focused on the Microsoft SharePoint platform, but there will be a lot of content that describes the growth and opportunities for customers and partners in the Document Capture and SharePoint markets.
I am always up for collaborative efforts and I look forward to comments and questions from people that are both new to the ECM and document capture space and also those that have been in the industry for many years. One of the great things about the ECM space and specifically the Document Capture arena is that it will continue to grow. Paper is not going away any time soon. Because of this and because of advances in the fields of image processing, search technologies and the coming unlimited processing and storage capabilities available with cloud computing the document capture market is going to continue to thrive.
I can be reached at work via Jeffrey.Shuey@Kodak.com or on Twitter @jshuey. I look forward to seeing your comments here and to collaborating on ECM blog posts.
