This week we meet Craig Venz, .Net Web Developer extraordinaire. Craig has worked with AIIM since November 2010. He is from Australia and now lives Maryland with his favorite black cat, Sable. He has been in the United States since 1996 and maintains an accent that is sometimes mistaken for English or Irish, but he is a true Aussie. His love for computers started at an early age when his Dad brought home a pocket computer. Craig started playing around with it and was soon programming. That curiosity and the excitement of seeing his creation work is what still fuels him today. Let’s meet Craig.

What do you do and what do love about it?
I use a number of different programming skills to develop and maintain the website and new features for our staff and the AIIM community I am behind the scenes, keeping everything moving and functioning properly.I get to create, modify, repair, and improve our existing applications, I like that the job keeps me thinking and engaged.

What are you proudest of?
Somewhere along the line my childhood dream of becoming a fireman changed to computers. I learned at an early age how to program and that was new and fun for me. It soon became a career. It’s creative, in an interesting sort of way, and it’s neat to have something created out of nothing… and to say I made that happen! It’s a great accomplishment that I get to have every day.

What do you do for fun?
After working all day with computers guess what I do for fun? Yep, go home and play video games.I have fun challenging myself and hunting for 'achievements'. I also read a lot or listen to podcast to slow down, subjects like economics and psychology.
