Carl: Hello, I want to thank you for allowing me to interview you and for the record, can you provide my readers with some insight as to who you work for and with a description of your role?

Student from Chicago, IL: I work for a global provider of risk management and reinsurance brokerage.  I am a Senior Specialist for our Records Strategy and Enablement department.

Carl:  When did you get the idea to make AIIM Education part of your training focus and what were the drivers for the decision?

Student from Chicago, IL: I have been a member of AIIM for many years and was aware of the training courses that AIIM offered.  I signed up for the ERM Master class to gain more extensive knowledge on records management standards and best practices.

Carl:  What do you see as a benefit for you and future attendees of these programs?

Student from Chicago, IL: The topics in the course were relevant and most useful, particularly, records inventory, retention schedules and disposition.  Currently, these are not supported by my organization but it was beneficial hearing the broad discussion around these topics.

Really, all the topics were beneficial and it comes down to whether I am able to get support for a comprehensive records management program in the future.

Carl:  For the future, how do you see the role of AIIM education evolving in relation to you and/or your customers?

Student from Chicago, IL: We are looking to add staff to our organization and new staff members would really benefit from AIIM’s training.

Carl: Is there anything else you might want to share with our readers related to AIIM Training and how it has been of benefit to you and may be of benefit to them?

Student from Chicago, IL:  I thoroughly enjoyed the classroom setting.  It was valuable picking up the different standards and best practices for electronic records management.  It was even more important getting the observations and insights from the other students brought out by the facilitation skills of the instructor.

Carl: I want to thank you, for taking time to talk with me and for sharing your valuable insights and perspectives with our readers.

I will be speaking at the following events:

June 19th – 22nd, 2012 AIIM ECM Master class in Houston, TX
