Information is everywhere in an organization – in databases, documents, spreadsheets, and other formats. All of it increases in value when you understand how one document relates to another, to the people who use it, and to the processes it drives. The objective is to improve quality and maximize business process efficiency. It is imperative to collect information accurately to benefit the business needs. Do this by process analysis and utilizing functional data collection tools.
Robin Miller is Informatics Specialist for Rapid City Regional Hospital. She is a graduate from Western Dakota Tech and holds certifications in Healthcare Informatics, Business Process Management, and Electronic Records Management. She is currently working towards certification in SharePoint for Collaboration. Employed by Rapid City Regional Hospital, Robin provides process analysis, SharePoint site development and maintenance, and maintains document and forms management systems. Robin implemented the system-wide document and forms management program throughout the entire Regional Health system. As an informatics specialist, Robin reviews and assesses business processes to identify workflow and process improvements, as well as, develops data capture solutions ensuring accurate data meets the needs of the organization.
