You know what social business is right? Sure you do; it’s enterprise 2.0 and Web 3.x and social media and Facebook and Twitter and simply applying these social media tools for business to engage customers and employees in a great collaborative kumbaya jam in the cloud and then watch the money pour in. Right?
OK, maybe not, but there is value in combining the new tools available today with a shift in thinking about how to talk to customers (and have employees work) to create something real; virtually. Or something like that.
I digress.
I hereby announce that AIIM’s “Social Business in 60 Seconds – Or Less” video competition is now open. Here are the rules; short and sweet:
1. Create a video – Describe Social Business in 60 seconds or less. This can be as simple as you talking to the camera to as complicated as you want it to be – Legos, Claymation, stop action photography, a mini-movie, a chimp in a beanie texting while eating a banana (not sure where that came from). Point is: go as nuts as you want; just do it in 60 seconds.
2. DON’T SELL. This is not your opportunity to tell the world about how wonderful your product and/or consulting approach to social business is. Plus, if you do that or think that’s a good idea, you don’t understand social business anyway.
3. Send the video to me via email – SEND TWO EMAILS. First email: the video. Most will be small enough to be emailed. However, second email: letting me know you sent the video. Redundancy in this case is good. (I realize this is not very 2.0ish, however it is simple and it works.)
4. Please no funky video formats. If it works with Real Player and uploads to Youtube; it’s fine.
5. I will upload the videos to the AIIM Conference Youtube channel; and various other places.
6. If you have a script, send it along, I’ll include because that will help with search – allowing MORE people to see your amazing creations.
7. A panel of AIIM judges (OK, me) will select a top 5ish for everyone to vote.
8. The top 3 get prizes.
9. You are responsible for ensuring that you have permission to share the video and all contents within it.
Deadlines
We will accept entries from now until COB January 12. Voting will begin on January 13 and we’ll announce a winner on January 20th.
