Messiest Desk -- A Competition

By Bryant Duhon posted 08-16-2010 15:54

Free yourself from the shackles of too much paper. Win a Kodak scanner. Here's how.

So, how messy is your desk? Are they as bad as are first 7 entries? Take a look and then keep reading for how to submit your own messy desk photo.

Do co-workers place orange cones around your cubicle? Can they see you when they stop by for a visit? Do you have piles (you'll say stacks) of - paper, magazines, newspapers, spreadsheets, a report on greenbar paper from 1989 - on your desk? Has your floor become an auxiliary filing cabinet? Do building inspectors consider your office a fire hazard?

If you're like me (I, too, incline to clutter), then we want to see that desk. One messy winner will receive a Kodak Scanmate i1120 Scanner (which can help you get rid of all that paper).

I am pleased to announce our first-ever "Messiest Desk Contest." The rules are simple:

  1. Take a photo(s) of your (or a co-worker's) messy desk/office.
  2. Email the photo(s), with a caption, to Bryant Duhon (bduhon@aiim.org). Please use "Messiest Desk" in the subject line.
  3. One entry per person.
  4. All submissions will be available for everyone's viewing please here.
  5. Deadline for submission is 8 a.m. (EST) on Monday, August 30.
  6. AIIM staff will select the five (5) messiests desks for all to vote on. Voting will begin on August 31 (announced in that newsletter) and close at 8 a.m. (EST) on Monday, September 13.
  7. The lucky (and messy) winner will receive the aforementioned scanner from Kodak. If you send in a photo of a co-worker's desk, it's up to you if you want to share the scanner. We make no judgements.
  8. Second and third place winners will receive an assortment of binder clips.
  9. The Top 5 can also bask in the warm glow of making others (who may just LOOK organized) feel smug and self-satisfied.

That's it

I'm really looking forward to seeing your photos. Here are mine:

This was after cleaning.
