Name:
Mia Deleanu
Position:
ECM Coordinator
Company: Edmonton Police Services

Where do you live in? Edmonton, Canada

How long have you worked in information management? My first job in information management started in 2001 as a Children's Librarian back home in Romania. Then I moved to Canada and began to work for Enbridge in 2013 as a Records Management Analyst. Since then, all my jobs have gravitated around information management, records management, data capture, scanning process migration of data, etc.

What does your work entail? Do you have company support? How are you helping drive the goals of your office through your work? My role is to prepare the information from the shared drives from different business units for the migration in the ECM system - IMB FileNet. I am also the technical support post-migration. Part of the process is also to analyze the current retention schedule for that respective unit and adjust the schedule to the new ECM structure; sometimes, I need to create new records series to dispose of the records in ECM. I am also in charge of the Audit of the physical records between destruction.

What has been the biggest success in your career in information management? My most significant success was migrating the data from the Immigration Access Database for Catholic Social Services into ShareVision and the on-site support that I provided after the implementation.

What’s your current biggest work challenge?

My biggest challenge is to convey the clients' complaints to the ECM Project Team. There is a particular hierarchy, and the information is stuck at the first level. There are too many bottlenecks that are making the migration of data very difficult.

What does Intelligent Information Management mean to you?

Intelligent Information Management would be the system where all parties collaborate and find the best solution for the entire enterprise.

What are the top 3 things you are looking to get from your AIIM membership? I want to get more knowledge on data security, information governance, and agile records information models.

What’s one thing you’re looking forward to in 2022? I am looking forward to publishing some articles about my experience in the data information domain.

What is your end goal and how do you think we can help you achieve it?  My end goal is to get more insights into becoming an information officer, so I am looking for some courses and hands-on experience in this area.

As an AIIM member, can you share how AIIM’s membership benefits helped you with your career?

The AIIM membership opened up a new universe of platforms and products that can make my work easier. It also gave me access to the best in this industry.
