Introduction
I was introduced to ECM in July 1989 when I joined Saros Corporation. Shortly after I began to deal with image-based applications. Since then I have been an ECM implementor, consultant and participant in AIIM and ARMA industry standards. At various points in my career I've produced ECM requirements studies, portions of RFPs, assisted in reviewing RFP responses. One area that I have specialized in is capture and recognition. I've built imaging solutions with a number of industry products.
My clients have included public and private organizations and a large number of industries.
These Blogs
For years I've been collecting notes and work product that generally relate to creating the "Capture Factory". The factory concept relates to looking at the entire imaging solution as you would a manufacturing plant, and designing the entire system to reduce tima and costs and increase accuracy. It also does not apply exclusively to document imaging; often multiple information sources feed the factory
Now I would like to organize those notes and present this knowledge in a somewhat orderly and sequential manner. I won't feel restricted to only blogging on the factory, but I intend this to be my theme for most of the next year.
