I've been calling this serendipitous discovery and it's the other major value I find in Twitter - almost every day I see examples of people I should follow or read as an outcome of this approach
And these sorts of serendipitous discovery happen all the time - often when employees are in the break room, or chat in the hallway, or are at lunch or happy hour
