Authentic Reliable Electronic Information Storage Best Practices and Tools

By Betsy Fanning posted 05-24-2018 17:20

ECM Standards, a part of the 3D PDF Consortium, is kicking off a body of work to develop best practices, checklists and other tools to help organizations plan, design, and implement trusted storage technologies. Our organizations are all processing a lot of electronic information on a regular basis. We need to have technologies that support and allow us to know that we are using solutions that are reliable, authentic and ensure the integrity of our information.

We will begin work on white papers and best practices that address how organizations can protect their information. Organizations have many electronic information storage technology choices. It is difficult to know the real value of the storage technologies and know the technology to choose. Once the storage technology has been selected, an implementation plan is needed to make sure the storage technology is designed and implemented correctly. Where does an organization start when they need to implement storage technologies? The white papers and best practices we will be developing should be where you go for the information you need to select and implement electronic information storage technologies.

If you are engaged in an electronic information storage project or have implemented storage technologies, we need you. You do not need to be a bits and bytes technical person to participate. Although, we do need some of you that are oriented to the technical side! We also need to hear the lessons learned from implementing storage technologies so that we can share that information with others through the best practices and white papers.

We hope that you will want to be a part of this ECM Standards’ Trustworthy Storage Technologies and Practices committee chaired by Robert Blatt. If you want to join us in this effort, email Robert Blatt at blatt@eid-inc.com. We will be scheduling a meeting in the next few weeks and hope to welcome you to the committee.
