    Ladies,
How are you addressing tabular dependencies in one or more databases and records/ data retention when it arises? I have seen to many architectural nightmares that really make it impossible for retention to occur. Best I can see we can evaluate technical assets and do a risk analysis on the data therein to determine if revamping the architecture is of value or simply waiting until the sunset of the asset and do better with the next one. I am working hard to ensure in the enterprise architecture review board DLM is addressed when any updates/upgrades or purchases occur but am struggling with those old systems who won't let me delete anything. What have you seen work? What are your lessons learned?
