    Hello  AIIM True North members,

I am David Faola CIP, based in Lagos, Nigeria  but have been granted Permanent Residency in Canada and will be relocating to Edmonton, Alberta with my family in the coming weeks.

I have been an AIIM member for over five years and attended several webinars organized by AIIM True North within the last 2 years, including the last webinar - Processes for Digital Transformation by Shyamal Addanki.
Purpose of this message is to introduce myself to the group and seek out employment opportunities as I make the transition to Canada.

I have worked in the information management space for over twelve years and implemented IG, EDMS and digital transformation projects in government, oil & gas, and financial services sectors.

Recently, I have developed myself in cloud technology, ML/ data analysis where I have executed some projects. I am a CIP, also have Amazon Web Service (AWS) Solutions Architect certificate, AWS Data Analytics Specialty certificate, and IBM Data analysis certificate.

In addition to the above certifications, I have an MBA and first degree in Applied Physics.
I am flexible and open to new experiences and opportunities. I also believe my skills and experience will be an asset to any organization. I will appreciate any advice you think might benefit me on this new adventure. My resume is available on request.
    Thank you for your time.

    Warm regards,

    Hi David,
Congratulations on your move to Canada.  I live in Calgary, about 3.5 hours south of Edmonton.  As Edmonton is the capital of Alberta, there is a large provincial government presence. Other opportunities are the University of Alberta and Grant MacEwan University.  There are likely some additional educational institutions/colleges there.

An easy way to start networking and to get more familiar with your new home would be to do some volunteer work through the City of Edmonton Library system or another local agency.  The central library may also may have some good career resources to help you as well.  Best wishes to you in your new home!
