Book Club For BIPOC Network

By Jeffrey Lewis posted 02-28-2025 12:53

We can discuss this at the next leadership council meeting, but I've been contemplating the idea of hosting a book club for professional development. Maybe once a quarter a book can be selected that members of the BIPOC community can read through and discuss. Depending on the author the author can potentially join us as well for a Zoom discussion. Two books that come to mind right away from authors in the AIIM community are

  • The 24-Hour Rule and Other Secrets for Smarter Organizations: Including the 6 Steps of Dynamic Documentation by Adrienne Bellehumour
  • RULES: Powerful Policy Wording To Maximize Engagement by Lewis Eisen.

I think a great book to lead a discussion on, although the author isn't part of the AIIM community and I doubt we'd be able to get him to join is "The Startup Of You" By Reid Hoffman (Founder of LinkedIn).

Full Disclaimer: I've lead virtual book clubs since 2021 and love interviewing authors and getting them to talk about their books as well as engaging others.
