Like most of you, I have participated in so-called “live meetings.” These range from a jazzed-up conference call to something that includes a screen or two being shared and all the way up to those that include video of people who looked dorky enough on camera without headsets (I lead this group). But something is missing from the best live meeting, something essential, something that may eventually be found in an online forum, but something that is clearly not there today

We used to set up a conference line, with someone from the dev team always dialed in, allowing us a sort of live-meeting follow-the-sun model
We had a pretty nice crowd, including a few people online who were willing to watch as I learn the finer points of streaming a live meeting. We also had a few people who had no interest in Cloud Computing – whaaaaat?
With the advent of desktop/mobile solutions such as Skype, Microsoft Live Meeting, and Apple FaceTime there are many options to choose from in this space
The common types of technology we leverage on different project across the company include: Wikis Microblogging Social Profiles Document Libraries & Shared Folder systems Desktop videoconferencing (i.e. Skype, MS Live Meeting) Digital Asset Management for images Enterprise Search Figure: Social Profiles inside EA – Fun, Creative and Informative Summary In summary, each company has an opportunity to define, develop and nurture its own collaborative culture
