Here is what I saw related to records management at the AIIM Show in Philadelphia: SharePoint 2010 was clearly in ascendance. The ECM Suite competitors were either barely visible as ECM players or trumpeting their abilities in the SharePoint 2010 “embrace and extend SharePoint” camp. This gave the AIIM Show a 1995 “best of breed” feel because Microsoft has not tried to aggregate the full set of capabilities for ECM and RM into a single platform

For many years at the AIIM show I would see the same faces, old friends that were often working for a new company
While the format is very different than the big AIIM Shows in the 90’s and 00’s, many of the themes were the same
After many years as an AIIM member (this year will be my 24 th AIIM show in a row), I got involved with the National Capitol Chapter, first as Programs Chair, then as President
Just as the SPEF has changed, so also has AIIM. This IS NOT the AIIM show of years past

And then I totally bought the farm when I got custody of an iPad for the weekend before the AIIM Show. [A note: we purchased 3 for the booth at the Show because they were way cheaper than paying the pirate rates for a 3-day rental of a flat panel.]
