A sports team comes together to play on the court, on the field, or on the ice together. But each team member must train on their own in the gym, on the track, or in the pool to have the strength, endurance, and skill they need to win the game. It’s no different in the work world, or for IM teams. Team productivity depends on the work of its individual contributors, as well as how they come together as a team.
While it's trendy to talk about tools, technology, meetings, and other gimmicks to solve our team productivity problems, team productivity is often about the stuff we don’t see. It’s about our collective skills, the trust we have in each other, how we share information, and how we let others do their jobs or know when to step in, and, most of all, how to keep the momentum going.
Wherever you sit in a corporate role, a leadership position, consulting, or entrepreneurial life, the only thing we can count on in our new world of knowledge work is that our success and careers are continually at risk of disruption. Being an expert is no longer enough. Today, there is less focus on your past — your resume, courses, credentials — and more focus on what you can do and bring to the table, your ability to influence others and drive change, and your style of working. Simply put, we all need to up our game when it comes to solving problems, working with others, and leveraging the power of our teams.
This is a light, fun, and interactive presentation designed to stir conversation and to provide you and your teams with helpful tools, frameworks, and techniques to boost your productivity, teamwork, and problem solving.
