Project management is the process of leading the work of a team to achieve goals and meet success criteria at a specified time. It crosses many business functions and industries. Information Governance is an organizational program with many different projects within it. Heather Sharbaugh applies her project management experience to Aldi's information governance initiatives to minimize failure and achieve stellar results. She'll explain the required techniques for getting the best of both worlds.

Heather Sharbaugh, PMP, CIP, is a results driven and detail-orientated experienced project manager and information governance practitioner; focusing on and advocating for innovative and unique opportunities and service offerings which leverage technology and other relevant applications.

Heather’s Specialties include; project management, information governance, records management, innovation, collaboration, training, change management and public speaking.

Heather holds a Master of Science in Management (MSM) in Project Management from Colorado Technical University; and Bachelor of Science (BS) from Western Illinois University.

Heather currently holds two certifications; Project Management Professional (PMP) and Certified Information Professional (CIP through AIIM). Heather is working towards a Six Sigma Yellow Belt (SSYB) certification as well as preparing to sit for the Information Governance Professional (IGP through ARMA) exam in 2021. Heather is an active notary public.

Heather is professionally engaged with Project Management Institute (PMI), ARMA International, and the Association of Intelligent Information Managers (AIIM). Personally, Heather serves on the executive board for the Boosters Club at her daughters High School, serves as a board member for the AndrewStrong Foundation ( and volunteers with Gift of Hope (

Heather is an adjunct instructor at Colorado Technical University ( teaching MPM210: Introduction to Project Management within the College of Business and Management, since April 2020.
