This session provides an overview of what is IG, who it applies to, what are the benefits, and what are the critical resources to support the standard. Next, the session will review how the standard can help manage implementation risks of a digital transformation initiative. Finally, the session will review areas to improve the standard and the IG profession.

Speaker's Bio: Andrew Ysasi (EE-SA-SEE), MS, CRM/CIGO, IGP, FIP, CIPM, CISM, PMP, has 25 years of experience in executive leadership and information governance. As Vice President of Advocacy for VRC, Andrew mentors, educates, and volunteers with the IG community on behalf of VRC. In addition to VRC, he serves as the Chairman of the ICRM in 2023, is an instructor at San Jose State University's MARA program, is the President of IG GURU®, and a resume expert with Admovio®, where his work is published on CIO.com. In the past, Andrew contributed to ARMA's IGBOK and Wiley's Information Governance, Second Edition. Andrew has a Master of Science in Administration from Central Michigan University, a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology, certificates in Data Analytics from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, and Data Privacy Strategy from Cornell.
