Speaker: Kenneth Atuma, University of Manchester

Kenneth is a Knowledge and Information Management specialist and Scholar.
He is a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in Library and Archives Studies at the University of Manchester, United Kingdom. His main area of specialisation is Archives, Records Management and Information Governance and Compliance.
Kenneth is passionate about equipping the next generation of information professionals with the skills and knowledge necessary to navigate the complexities of the digital age. Previously, he has taught in two higher institutions in Nigeria and currently contributing to the development of the MA programme in Library and Archives Studies at the University of Manchester where he teaches and assesses students in postgraduate courses in Archives and Special Collection; Records and Information Management Practise; The Law, Information Governance and Compliance. He is also interested in research around Computational Archiving; Digital Preservation; Information Storage and Retrieval Systems; AI in Libraries; Health Librarianship.
Kenneth served as a peer review expert for the ACQUIN Accreditation Commission, participating in an international program accreditation procedure at Al-Farabi Kazakh University, Almaty, Kazakhstan. Specifically, he contributed expertise to the accreditation evaluation process for the following programmes: Digital Archiving and File Management (Bachelor’s degree), IT Archiving and Document Management (Master's degree), and Library Information Systems (PhD) programmes.
Currently, Kenneth holds a position on the advisory board for the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA) Subject Benchmark Statement (SBS) Reviews 2024-2025. Within this role, he serves on the advisory review subgroup experts in Librarianship, Information, Knowledge, Records, and Archives Management programs.
