Sorry for cross-posting. This group is just so supportive. The dictionary is one
of my most important professional achievements and I wanted to share it. This is a project I have been managing, researching, and writing for since late 2012. Of course, still a lot left to do. Writing dictionaries is hard work. This would not have happened at all without my amazing team and the organizational support from the Society of American Archivists. - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
On behalf of the Society of American Archivists, I am pleased to present the
Dictionary of Archives Terminology (DAT)(
https://dictionary.archivists.org).
Compiled by SAA's Dictionary Working Group, the DAT expands upon
A Glossary of Archival and Records Terminology by Richard Pearce-Moses (SAA, 2005). With hundreds of new terms, thousands of citations from more than 600 sources, and a brand-new online platform, it's a major upgrade. You can learn more from the news release at
https://www2.archivists.org/news/2020/new-dictionary-of-archives-terminology-launched or the DAT About page.
We still have a lot to do since dictionaries are never finished. We welcome your feedback. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate contacting me.
Best wishes to all.
Rosemary
