KnowledgeLake “Tahoe” Update Brings RPA Studio to Intelligent Document Processing Software May 11, 2022 by Jason Burian (VP, Product Management)

Today, we’re announcing our new KnowledgeLake platform update, code-named “Tahoe.” It’s a culmination of many months’ work designed to enhance the platform’s broad appeal, and help end users across business functions work smarter and more productively. It brings a new level of simplicity and ease of use to intelligent document processing software.

I’m excited to share three of the most compelling new features in this update:

Introducing The No-Code RPA Design Studio

The KnowledgeLake Cloud has featured Robotic Process Automation (RPA) for some time. This feature has proven extremely useful for companies looking to go beyond document capture and eliminate manual workflows with bot-driven automations. Too often this requires a developer or consultant to scope, design and test any RPA automation prior to launch.

Not anymore. With Tahoe, KnowledgeLake is announcing an all-new RPA Design Studio, with an intuitive drag-and-drop interface that empowers users to create RPA workflows with out-of-the-box components. No development or code-writing necessary.

The video above shows how quickly a user can create a Robotic Desktop Automation (RDA). What used to take months can now be built and tested in hours or days.

Limitless and Secure Document Storage in the Cloud

Just as important as capturing and classifying documents is the ability to securely STORE, SHARE and FIND documents over time.

Traditionally, KnowledgeLake has offered customers storage through Microsoft Azure or Microsoft SharePoint. With this release, KnowledgeLake adds two new robust storage options.

First and foremost, we’ve launched our own unlimited storage option, KnowledgeLake Content Services. This means that KnowledgeLake will now host your data in a highly secure SOC2 compliant data center that is Microsoft- and Azure Gov Cloud-approved. All customer data resides in a single-tenant solution so there is no co-mingling of customer data. Users can manage their space for disaster recovery and maintenance.

Secondly, KnowledgeLake now supports Amazon AWS S3 as a Bring Your Own Storage (BYOS) option. This is perfect for customers who need both control over their own storage and a limitless repository. It offers all the functionality of our other storage solutions for customers already using Amazon AWS.

Customers that come to KnowledgeLake with an existing repository won’t need to change it. But any company that needs one can choose one of these new options to store their documents. It’s all to provide intelligent document processing software that lets customers manage all of their transactional documents from one cloud-based location.

Both of these options also improve KnowledgeLake’s ability to offer flexible storage solutions to partners.

Enhanced Document Search and Export

With this update, users can find any file in one click and then export and share it with external teams. Back-office employees can use more advanced filters to search by date, content type, and other criteria to find text inside any document. And they can do all of this without leaving the application or system they’re working in.

Users can look at a preview of a document, zoom in to see a screenshot, or scroll through pages to view documents without opening them. They can then export documents and files (along with their corresponding metadata) directly to a network file share or to the cloud to be shared externally. This feature simplifies the process of sharing files with outside contacts who do not have access to the repository, which comes in handy for an e-discovery process as part of a lawsuit or insurance claim. It’s a feature suited for companies working with case management documentation such as insurance claims, medical records, citizen requests for data such as tax documents, and more.
