Tomorrow (or today depending on when you see this post:) is International Women's Day (March 8) -- a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity.

As we are just beginning to organize our own community, it would be great to hear how your organization may be supporting/celebrating this day. Any events planned? How are you observing this day?

Ideas inspire others and lead to action, so let's share! If looking for some ideas, check out: https://www.internationalwomensday.com/Activity/11712/How-to-plan-IWD

    How will you #PressforProgress? #IWD2018  March 8

What a great day to share our social responsibility focus for AIIM18.

In the past, we've done awesome community work at both AIIM16 and AIIM17. Our event attendees have decorated TOMS shoes and donated those in New Orleans, made STEM Puzzles and Morse Code Bracelets for kids in Orlando. https://www.aiimconference.com/page/1304492/aiim-gives-back

This year in at AIIM18 in San Antonio we'll be packing welcome kits for Girls Inc of San Antonio for their summer camps.

Girls Inc is a non-profit organization who in partnership with schools and at Girls Inc. centers, focusing on the development of the whole girl. She learns to value herself, take risks, and discover and develop her inherent strengths. The combination of long-lasting mentoring relationships, a pro-girl environment, and research-based programming equips girls to navigate gender, economic, and social barriers, and grow up healthyeducated, and independent. Informed by girls and their families, we also advocate for legislation and policies to increase opportunities and rights for all girls. More details about their great work can be found here http://www.girlsincsa.com/ we'll also have someone with us from Girls Inc during our "packing party" to answer any questions you might have.

I know that our WIIM Community who will be in San Antonio with us will get behind this project wholeheartedly, and we'll have those 500 welcome packs whipped up in no time!

I absolutely look forward to seeing each of you at <g class="gr_ gr_754 gr-alert gr_gramm gr_inline_cards gr_run_anim Punctuation only-del replaceWithoutSep" id="754" data-gr-id="754">AIIM18,</g> and look forward to chatting with many of you tomorrow on the leadership call.

Happy International Women's Day to each of you.

    Thanks
    George
